Day 1: Nyakalengija's Start to the Tranquil Nyabitaba Camp
You begin your expedition in Nyakalengija. An early start is essential to ensure ample time for equipment preparations and introductions with your dedicated guides and porters. Your trek commences through lush farmlands, leading to the park's boundary. Journey through the dense forest alongside the Mubuku River, crossing the Mahoma River tributary, and prepare for a challenging ascent onto a vast ridge, culminating at the serene Nyabitaba hut. Throughout this leg, you might encounter the calls of chimpanzees, sights of the black and white colobus, playful blue monkeys, and the vibrant Rwenzori turraco. Expect an exhilarating 6-7 hours of trekking.

Day 2: From Nyabitaba's Serenity to the Grand John Mate Camp
Leaving Nyabitaba behind, the trail meanders down through the forest to the iconic Kurt Shafer Bridge. As you navigate the bamboo forest, be prepared for a challenging stretch of moss-covered rock. From the vantage of the Nyamuleju rock shelter, the silhouettes of Mount Stanley and Mount Speke begin to emerge. Your path continues through zones adorned with giant heather, lobelia, and groundsel, guiding you to the welcoming John Mate Hut for dinner and rest. This segment promises 7-8 hours of adventure.

Day 3: From John Mate's Heights to Bujuku Camp's Wonders
< Departing from John Mate Hut, the path descends to cross the Bujuku River, introducing you to the Lower Bigo Bog and its giant lobelias. As you cross the bog, the Upper Bigo Bog reveals Bujuku Lake, with distant views of Mt. Baker and Mt. Stanley. Bujuku Hut, nestled between these magnificent peaks, awaits your arrival. It's an ideal spot for acclimatization, especially for those eyeing the summits. A fulfilling dinner and peaceful night await at Bujuku hut, wrapping up 4-5 hours of trekking.

Day 4: Bujuku to Mount Speke's Summit and Return to John Mate Camp
Embrace the day with an early start, hiking through Stullmans Pass with breathtaking views of the Virunga National Park in DR Congo, leading to Victorio Emanuele peak. The ascent promises 4-5 hours of mesmerizing vistas. The descent from Victorio Emanuele graces you with views of Bujuku valley, Bujuku lake, Margherita and Albert peaks on Mount Stanley, and Mount Baker. After a brief stop at Bujuku, continue to John Maate Camp for the night, completing 3-4 hours of descent.

Day 5: John Mate's Farewell and Descend to Nyakalengija
Your final day starts with a descent, crossing the Kurt Sheffer bridge and completing the circuit at Nyabitaba. Continue your journey, descending to Nyakalengija, marking the end of your unforgettable trek.
